You left out this possible analogy. You get a good score on a final exam, and are then able to sell that exam and all the exams you have taken in college to someone for $20 million, keeping ownership in about 10% of the exams.

Great comparisons. It's so true that so many kids think that when you say your starting a company your on easy street or something. They complain about class or after graduation working the 9-5. All while I think about how much crap I have to deal with. It's kind of funny listening to it because I know I'm much happier with everything I'm doing.

It is fun as hell though!

I don't know if this is an addition or an augmentation, but I'd also say that the people giving you your grades (investors in this case maybe) might fail you because they actually understand the material worse than you do and are afraid giving you a good grade will bring down their own grades.

Just one more thing. The reason too, that I think its "fun as hell" is because it's real life risk taking. It's putting your whole soul, life, money, time, relationships, EVERYTHING on the line for success and it will either fail or fly to the top. It's real life gambling. It's real life thrill. It's like sky diving. And hoping the parachute that you've so carefully prepared, actually comes out and saves your life.
